Av and Tishrei — Leo meets Libra

Tishrei is the month of touch / Union — balanced, judicial, seeking fairness and harmony. In a bond, Tishrei gives balance — Tishrei weighs both sides honestly and holds a hand while doing it.

In the camp of Israel, Simeon hears the call — intensity looking for a worthy channel; Ephraim bears fruit in exile — grace under displacement. Two different offices — which is the point. This pairing is not a merger of similar firms; it is a division of labor old enough to have marched through a desert.

Summer meets autumn: ripeness meets reckoning. One partner lives in the fullness of things, the other in their accounting. Together they make harvest — the season where fullness finally gets weighed, stored, and blessed.

What Av gives Tishrei: charisma where Tishrei is still learning decisiveness when stakes are high. The very muscle one partner was born with is the one the other is quietly building.

What Tishrei gives Av: fair-mindedness — the counterweight to Av's growth edge of humility.

What it costs: each month's shadow lands precisely on the other's tender spot. Av's habit of nursing the one unheard sentence past its natural life collides with Tishrei's need — harmony that is real; performed peace exhausts this month faster than open conflict. And Tishrei's habit of postponing the decision until the scales rust collides with Av's need — to be taken seriously; mockery, even affectionate, lands as contempt. Name both shadows out loud once, early, and they lose most of their teeth.

Av loves through hearing; Tishrei receives through touch / Union. The daily translation work is real: what feels like love leaving one partner's hands must arrive in a language the other's sense can read. When depth is offered and harmony that is real is honored, the circuit closes — and this pair generates unusual warmth.

Av's letter is ט (9); Tishrei's is ל (30). Together, 39, which resolves to three — the stabilizing third: whatever these two build becomes a place others stand on.

Every month carries its own rectification. Av's: listening — Shema Yisrael. The readiness to truly hear before reacting. Tishrei's: weighing all sides truthfully; balanced judgment of self and others. A pairing becomes a chevruta when each partner takes the other's tikkun half-seriously as their own — the Av partner practicing a little of Tishrei's repair, and the reverse. That exchange is what the tradition would call building, not matching.
